It identifies five recurring strategies of gendered aggression and develops the concept of a transideological repertoire to describe comparable gendered scripts used against ideologically opposed women politicians.

This study analyses 498 hostile Spanish-language replies to Isabel Díaz Ayuso through Appraisal Theory. It shows that moral condemnation and accusations of dishonesty outweigh competence criticism and develops the concept of evaluative gatekeeping to explain how apparently ordinary assessments can challenge political legitimacy in gendered terms.

This Spanish-language chapter studies reactions to a female-led housing-policy communication campaign across X, TikTok and Instagram. It proposes an object-based method for distinguishing party-political criticism from gendered evaluation without treating all hostility directed at a woman as sexism.

Based on 900 posts concerning Queen Sofía, Queen Letizia and Princess Leonor, this chapter examines three forms of gendered regulation: praise as control, punishment for visibility and anticipatory surveillance. It considers the monarchy as a symbolic arena in which gender, class and national identity are contested.
